Welcome!

Welcome to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure official blog and thanks for stopping by! Our hope is that you’ll visit often and leave with valuable information about Komen and breast cancer that can be easily shared with family and friends.

You’ll learn about the latest in research from our science experts. We’ll share health and lifestyle tips and introduce you to Komen researchers, Affiliates, volunteers, grantees and the many other members of our family. Travel the U.S. and the world with our staff as they share our work, learn about the critical role we play in shaping public policy and hear inspirational stories that remind us why this work is so important for women and men today, and for future generations.

This is a place to keep you, the Komen family, informed. We’re glad you’ve joined us on this journey.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, we have invested more than $1.9 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
